We are so excited to be working with Amyah Thompson through the Regional Arts Commission's Gyo Obata Fellowship Program this summer! Born and raised in St. Louis, Myah is an aspiring writer and senior majoring in English at Fontbonne University. She is an advocate for women's rights and equal rights for all, making her a wonderful addition to CKDC’s team. Myah is the first person our clients and students engage with when they sign up for their first dance class with us. She has spearheaded cataloging and organizing CKDC's near 14 year old costume closet which will help us share our costumes with other area organizations and individual artists helping to eliminate the expensive burden of costuming for arts productions. Myah has also taken over our social media accounts and is currently helping us prepare for our upcoming dance concert, French Connection which centers the life of Josephine Baker, and St. Louis's French heritage. We are so excited to continue working with her for the last part of this summer, and she even has some incredible projects of her own up her sleeve. Stay tuned for the reveal!
