Junior company dance program
DEEPEN YOUR ARTS PRACTICE.
In addition to offering inclusive youth education for all ages and levels, CKDC also caters to career-minded artists through our Professional Development and Junior Company programs. Youth age 15 - 19 are eligible to apply. Our Professional Development program explores the creative and administrative world of dance and arts management. Our Junior Company has the opportunity to train and perform with our professional company, work with resident and guest artists and start building their performance resumes early. These programs expose students to real life learning in the area of social entrepreneurship in a safe and supporting environment. Students learn life skills that are not covered in academic classrooms. The Jr. & jr. jr. Program
Our Junior and Jr. Jr. Company dancers are given unique opportunities to work with our professional company and focus deeply on becoming better artists. They are given choreography and performance opportunities and learn improvisational skills, dance history and costume design and development among others. They also gain an understanding on how to run a professional concert from start to finish, acquire teaching skills through assisting instructors with their classes, get a solid grasp on music composition through creating soundtracks for dances, as well as deciphering techniques behind auditioning and casting a piece. Through both the Junior Company and the required Professional Development class, these students get a unique education that will positively impact any future career they pursue.
Tuition
Monthly Unlimited: $175
Note: All PD and Junior Company track students are required to train a minimum of 5 hours a week, so the pricing option for junior company is the monthly unlimited for $175/month.
