In his first season with the company, Cyrus performed and instructed multiple classes and events in St. Louis, as well as organized his first professional street performance with the World Chess Hall of Fame. Cyrus also began his exploration of various styles and genres in dance, joining the company on stage for professional concerts such as The Blue Zone, Human Disturbance and [Revolution]. Taking the knowledge and experience from his career as videographer, Cyrus unutilized his tools and initiative to create multiple video productions and promotional clips for CKDC. He also began his career as a freelance photographer/videographer. Privately contracting for creative content, weddings, camera operation and editing videos in St. Louis and the surrounding region.
In his second season with CKDC, Cyrus furthered his passion for film and movement by creating and instructing Dance for Film class. Not only to enhance the professional development of our youth program, but to encourage self-promotion, self-production, and provide more tools to prepare his students for a career in our ever-changing dance world. Later in his second season the COVID-19 pandemic had cancelled many artistic opportunities for the company however, Cyrus remained active with CKDC producing video content for Patreon, youth classes, and multiple fundraiser campaigns.
In May 2021, Cyrus was promoted to Company Manager and continues to advocate, pursue and broaden our mission of accessibility, not only as a dancer, but as an administrator of fine artists in our community. Cyrus looks forward to furthering his knowledge, passion and dedication for another exciting season with CKDC and many years to come.
